This immersive character-driven series, explores the amazing feats animals achieve to survive on Scotland’s ultimate frontier. Like the Wild West, families and prospectors are exposed to the harsh elements, thieves and murderers, and an ever-changing human world. It takes all their skill and luck to survive here.
Each programme explores a different challenge of the west: the challenges of creating and raising families, surviving the west through amazing adaptations and behaviour, and finally adapting to a world shaped by man.
We follow the stories of major characters in each episode through recurring story arcs. Will the otter cubs survive their first season, can the puffin parents raise a chick and will the red deer king reclaim his kingdom?
